Testimonials - Drug Sense UK

"I would like to thank David for the Drugs Awareness Seminar he held at our Church. The method of presentation was 'dynamic, visual and extremely professionally presented'. It was obvious to all he is passionate and very knowledgeable about his subject. His many years spent as a Drug Squad Officer allowed him to discuss his own experiences and added to what was a very informative Seminar. I am sure from the reaction of my congregation, that this type of Seminar will benefit a large section of our society, and is a must for any 'parent' with teenagers"...

"Dave, many thanks for organising the Drug Awareness Seminar, it was most interesting and well worth attending. It was good to see such a large diversity of staff attend and yet the level of instruction was understood by all. I hope it can be repeated, as I would like all security, cleaning and maintenance staff to attend also. I've received a number of similar comments all of who think we should do this again, so success all round".....

Martha Kelsey - Staff Development Manager University of Hull, Hull Humberside

“Staff at the college agreed that this was an incredibly useful and interesting in-service training session on drugs, their characteristics and availability, and their effects. Dave's first hand accounts and his stressing of the need to treat all drug use seriously really hit home. We hope to put his knowledge and dynamism to use in further INSET and invite him to address students...

'As a parent I found the Drug Awareness Seminar provided by Drug Sense UK both interesting and extremely beneficial. To be honest I didn't really know what drugs and dangers were out there in our society, and this was a wake up call and reality check for me. Although hard hitting it really put in perspective the dangers our children have to face intoday’s drug fuelled society. I learnt so much and feel much more confident in talking to my children about drugs and more importantly better equipped to identify any early signs and symptoms.A fantastic seminar...a must for all parents..."

“This course covered all aspects that I could need - well done. Fun, interesting and good use of props. Most useful aspect of workshop was the history of real life examples.

The parents and teachers received a superb presentation which was informative and educational. All those present felt better equipped in being able to identify the signs or paraphernalia of drug taking, thus enabling them to support the children in their care.

“Dave provided us with an excellent, informative presentation. The content was thorough, giving an overview of all the drugs that young people are able to access.  The session allowed staff to update existing knowledge and learn what the current trends were.  I felt able to ask questions to clarify any points raised.  Dave was extremely helpful and stayed back afterwards to talk to the staff and offer additional advice….I would definitely recommend the training to anyone working with young people and adults where drugs might be a concern….”

A fantastic hard hitting presentation full of interest especially to people who are not aware of the drug world and the dangers it creates to all types of industries including tourism. A real eye opener and professionally delivered and I have no hesitation in booking Dave at our next Yorkshire Moors and Coast Tourism Partnership workshop later this year in the Thirsk area.

"A very well presented and delivered seminar. The information and handouts provided have been extremely useful with regards updating our drug awareness policy and staff handbooks. Dave's own case studies and examples, gained from his many years as a Drug Squad Officer, made what could have been a long day of serious information absorption both enlightening and entertaining."

“I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Drug Sense UK . From the moment we contacted them they have been thoroughly professional and worked to the deadlines we set. We are a small company employing 80 staff and had been having a few problems with drugs misuse in the workplace. Drug Sense UK provided the training/expertise and support to develop a substance misuse policy that best suited our needs. The training they have provided our staff on raising Drug Awareness has been first class, practical and realistic in its approach and delivery. We will continue to Drug Sense UK to conduct our random testing and I have no hesitation in recommending them to other organisation…

The one day drugs awareness course run by Dave Parvin was very interesting and informative. Dave offered useful suggestions for developing a Misuse of Drugs policy for my business, which I believe is a necessity nowadays to protect both myself, my business, my customers and my employees. There are business implications here that all employers need to consider now that drugs are becoming so commonplace in society- and if you don't think that drugs are commonplace, attend the course and then decide!

Dave clearly knows his stuff- his information was informative and up to date. He does not 'preach', and delivers his course in a truthful and non-judgemental way. He also has some very entertaining anecdotes!

On a personal note, all teenagers (or, like me, parents of teenagers) would benefit from attending! Mums and Dads- it's a great opportunity to get yourself informed!

It is our pleasure to provide positive feedback to Drug Sense UK who recently delivered us a Drug Awareness Training Course (Level One) Naturally I consider this type of training as both beneficial and extremely important to my company and employees as it gave a vivid insight to the damage and destruction drugs can cause if undetected for any period of time. We maintain extremely high levels of safety at Cheshire Scaffolds Ltd and obviously frown upon the use and behaviour of drugs and users on our premises/sites and will appropriately deal with these issues as per our company policies.

I would recommend that all companies express an interest with Drugs Sense UK in particular key personnel who require this type of training in order to identify and resolve any Drugs Misuse issues within their organisations. Having attended the Level One Drug Awareness Course, both myself and staff feel better equipped to identify and resolve drugs misuse should it arise. It is a powerful and graphic Course and I strongly recommend it to any organisation.

Just a few words to say thankyou for conducting the Drug Awareness Seminar on 19th September. I have had great feedback from my managers who attended, finding it very beneficial in today’s drug fuelled climate. The time seemed to fly by and I feel this course should be attended by all workers in the Licence Trade!!!

A major plus factor is that the course was run by someone with first hand knowledge on the subject with very relevant examples from previous experience.

Tim Millard - General Manager Boleyns Group

"Thankyou very much for the informative seminar you held for our staff at Raven Hall Hotel, it was quite eye opening ! I felt it was a valuable exercise to make Managers and Staff in all departments aware of the potential hazards, problems and dangers both to themselves and Guests. Drugs can have a devastating effect to both people and businesses, and many of us are not as well-informed as we might think. Your Seminar was well presented, interesting and pulled no punches, and all of us who attended found it helpful and beneficial. I would like to contact other General Managers in our area to recommend this course for their establishments, which I'm sure will benefit them also."
